The Story Behind the Songs
I wrote my first lyrics 35 years ago. What started as creative writing in school evolved into poetry, and poetry evolved into songs. Writing has always been my therapy, a way to work through life’s difficult moments and find meaning in experiences that many of us share. After retiring, I finally had time to pursue this passion fully. I pulled out decades of writing, transferred from disks to thumb drives to hard copies over the years, and asked myself: how can I turn these universal experiences into songs the world can hear?
Why Songs Matter
We’re all sentimental. Every one of us wants to feel seen, valued, remembered. We want connection. We want belonging. We want to know that our life has meaning to someone else. But we build walls, fear of vulnerability, busyness, not having the right words. We fail to say thank you, to tell someone how much we appreciate them, how much we love them.
